2005 Naia Naiades
Wine label said:
Located on the high central plateau of Spain, Ruedais the only white wine appellation in Castile-Leon.The Naiades vineyards were panted in the 19th century with ungrafted Verdejo vines. These rare ancient vines have survived generations of harsh climate and meager sandy soils, and resisted the assault of phylloxera to produce the grapes that we culture to make the wine we know as Naiades.

We plan to go to Spain later in 2008, and I wish to try various spanish reds and whites in preparation for our trip. (Tough work but somebody has to do it!) We found us a great wine in this Verdejo. Flavors of pears, vanilla spice, and honeysuckle. I know this sounds like another floral white wine but this wine has good body and layers of flavors. I am not the only one who likes it Jay Miller, Big Bob’s man in Spain, tasted it and gave it 91 points.
